BMT Swimming and Goggles Guide

Practical guides for Singapore NSFs and NSMen

The BMT swimming question usually starts from two small details: CMPB tells you to bring swimming goggles, and older NS stories talk about pool drills, float belts, aqua jogging, or being split by swimming ability.

The useful answer is not to memorise one cohort's pool routine. The useful answer is to know what official pages actually confirm, what they do not publish, and what you should raise before the conduct if swimming, eyesight, medical status, or confidence in water is an issue.

This guide is unofficial. Your enlistment letter, BMTC instructions, commanders, instructors, training-safety brief, medical status, CMPB, MINDEF, SAF, and written official instructions override anything here.

NS Heat Safety for Hot Weather

Practical guides for Singapore NSFs and NSMen

Hot weather in NS is not just about feeling uncomfortable in the bunk.

When humidity stays high, PT feels heavier, route marches feel different, sleep can be worse, and every rumour about "full load in this weather" starts sounding urgent. The useful response is not to guess from Reddit or silently tahan until something goes wrong. The useful response is to know what official safety guidance actually says, then use the right channel early.

This guide is unofficial. Your commanders, trainers, instructors, safety brief, medical status, activity order, CMPB, MINDEF, SAF, SCDF, SPF, Home Team, and written official instructions override anything here.
