OneNS vs MHA NS Portal: Task Guide

Practical guides for Singapore NSFs and NSMen

An "NS Portal" instruction is no longer specific enough. A pre-enlistee may start from a CMPB page, an SAF serviceman may open OneNS and then be sent to a separate eHealth login, while an SPF or SCDF NSman may need the MHA NS Portal instead.

Choosing the wrong starting point does not change an obligation. It just wastes time and makes a missing record, booking, call-up, or payment harder to explain.

This guide is unofficial. The portal currently showing your personal transaction, your unit or service instruction, MINDEF, CMPB, MHA, SPF, and SCDF override anything here.

Quick version
  • If you are still in the pre-enlistment process, start from the relevant CMPB eServices page. CMPB links individual tasks to OneNS or MINDEF eHealth.
  • For SAF call-ups, IPPT or NS FIT, profile details, and supported in-service leave or claims, current MINDEF guidance points to OneNS.
  • SAF medical information and appointments sit in MINDEF eHealth. You can launch eHealth from OneNS, but MINDEF says they are separate portals and require separate login.
  • For SPF or SCDF Operationally Ready NS matters, use the MHA NS Portal for Home Team call-ups, profile, IPPT or NS FIT, and NS pay transactions.
  • If a Home Team task is missing or unclear, use the MHA NS Contact Centre. MINDEF says MHA NS matters moved to that dedicated support route from 17 July 2025.
  • Never treat an absent portal tile, stale status, or failed login as approval to miss a call-up, booking deadline, medical instruction, or reporting time.

Start With Status, Service, And Task

Before opening another tab, write down three facts:

  1. Status: pre-enlistee, full-time NSF, Regular or in-service personnel, or Operationally Ready NSman.
  2. Service: SAF, SPF, or SCDF.
  3. Task: registration, call-up, fitness, medical, pay, profile, leave, claim, or another specific transaction.

The same person can use more than one system during his NS journey. That is normal. The useful question is not "Which NS portal is the real one?" It is "Which current official service owns this task for my status and service?"

Pre-Enlistees: Start From CMPB

Before enlistment, your eventual SAF, SPF, or SCDF posting does not mean every transaction starts at a service-specific ORNS portal.

CMPB's current eServices page lists the main pre-enlistment tasks:

  • Exit Permit applications and overseas-address updates;
  • NS registration, documentation, and deferment;
  • registration, deferment, and enlistment status enquiries;
  • medical appointment changes;
  • pre-enlistee IPPT booking;
  • eHealth medical review and PES information;
  • personal-particular updates;
  • MINDEF fine payments.

CMPB also states that the links bring users to OneNS or MINDEF eHealth and require Singpass login. Start from the named CMPB task instead of guessing from an old bookmark.

That approach also helps when a page moves. The CMPB eServices page can remain the directory even if a transaction opens on another official system.

SAF: OneNS Owns Many Tasks, Not Every Screen

MINDEF says NS eServices have been accessible through the OneNS web portal and mobile app since April 2024. Current public instructions specifically point to OneNS for several common SAF tasks.

Call-ups

MINDEF says an SAF NSman can acknowledge a call-up through Manage Call-up & Manning on OneNS. The same guidance provides SMS and phone alternatives for call-up acknowledgement or ICT details.

If your SAF100, SMS, and dashboard do not agree, preserve all three. Contact the listed SAF call-up route and ask which reporting instruction controls. A portal mismatch is a reason to reconcile the record, not a reason to choose the more convenient version.

IPPT And NS FIT

MINDEF says SAF NSmen can book IPPT or NS FIT through the OneNS IPPT/NS FIT eService and can view bookings, attendance, and past records there.

Use the dates and eligibility shown in your account. A friend's SPF or SCDF booking screen does not prove what your SAF window should show.

Leave And Claims

For in-service personnel, MINDEF says the OneNS Leave and Claims eService currently supports annual, childcare, and medical leave, plus transport, medical, and dental claims. It also says other leave and claim types continue through existing processes.

That distinction matters. "I cannot see a tile" may mean:

  • the task is not one of the currently supported OneNS categories;
  • your role or record does not expose it;
  • a separate unit process applies;
  • the record has not updated;
  • access is failing.

Ask the process owner before deciding the task does not exist.

SAF Medical: OneNS Can Be The Door, But eHealth Is The Room

This is the portal split most likely to confuse people.

MINDEF says Manage Medical is found on a separate portal called eHealth. A user logged in to OneNS may launch Manage Medical from the dashboard, but eHealth and OneNS are separate portals and require another login.

MINDEF describes eHealth as the place where eligible users can manage or review:

  • selected medical appointments;
  • PES status;
  • vaccinations;
  • MCs and medical excuses;
  • selected blood-test results;
  • formal SAF medical-report requests;
  • pre-enlistee MCC appointments and documents.

So if OneNS shows a summary while eHealth shows the medical transaction, do not assume one screen has overwritten the other. Record the exact mismatch, the date, and the task you were trying to complete. Use the official medical or support route if the difference affects an appointment, medical restriction, IPPT eligibility, duty, or reporting instruction.

Do not use this guide to predict a PES result or decide whether an MC, excuse, or medical review should be approved.

SPF And SCDF NSmen: Use The MHA NS Portal

The MHA NS Portal is the Home Team ORNS route for SPF and SCDF NSmen. MHA says the portal provides NS-related online services and information, while its current user guide lists these main eServices:

  • Manage My Profile;
  • Manage Call-Ups;
  • Manage IPPT/NS FIT;
  • Manage NSmen Payments;
  • Apply or Manage Exit Permit.

MHA's NS & You page also groups Home Team information under call-ups, IPPT and NS FIT, profile, medical, NS pay, Exit Permit, ORNS, service-request forms, and eService guides.

That does not mean every SPF or SCDF full-time NSF task is a self-service MHA NS Portal transaction. Full-time Home Team NSFs should follow their unit, SPF, SCDF, or current written instruction for tasks not published as portal services.

It also does not mean a OneNS page about an SAF workflow controls a Home Team outcome. For example, MHA publishes its own Home Team IPPT, NS FIT, profile, call-up, and pay material.

Use The Correct Support Route

Portal confusion gets worse when the enquiry goes to the wrong ministry.

MHA says its dedicated NS Contact Centre has handled Home Team NS matters since 17 July 2025. The centre supports Home Team National Servicemen and employers through:

  • the MHA NS enquiry webform;
  • ns_enquiry@ns.mha.gov.sg;
  • 1800 642 0000 for local calls;
  • +65 6478 0000 from overseas.

MINDEF's current contact page repeats that MHA NS matters should go to the MHA route. It separately lists the MINDEF NS Contact Centre for SAF matters.

When contacting either route, include:

  • SAF, SPF, or SCDF;
  • current status;
  • the exact task;
  • portal and page name;
  • the error or mismatch;
  • relevant dates and deadline;
  • screenshot or notice, with unrelated personal details hidden where possible;
  • what you already tried.

Do not send medical records or identity documents to an unofficial address or a contact copied from a forum.

What To Do When Records Disagree

Use a simple evidence sequence:

  1. Capture the exact screen, status, timestamp, and transaction.
  2. Compare it with the latest SAF100, recall order, SMS, email, appointment notice, or unit instruction.
  3. Check whether the task actually belongs to OneNS, eHealth, CMPB, or the MHA NS Portal.
  4. Contact the correct official support or unit route with exact dates.
  5. Ask which instruction controls and whether any action remains outstanding.
  6. Keep the written reply until the task, deadline, payment, booking, or status is settled.

If a reporting time or legal obligation is close, escalate promptly through the named official channel. Do not wait for a portal tile to fix itself.

Common Mistakes

  • Calling every official system "NS Portal" when asking for help.
  • Sending an SPF or SCDF ORNS enquiry to the MINDEF NS Contact Centre.
  • Assuming OneNS and MINDEF eHealth are the same login and record.
  • Using the MHA NS Portal as though it controls SAF medical or call-up administration.
  • Treating an old bookmark, Reddit comment, or search snippet as current task ownership.
  • Assuming a missing record cancels a call-up, fitness window, appointment, or reporting instruction.
  • Sharing unredacted medical or identity details in a public forum.
  • Asking "portal not working" without naming the service, task, screen, error, and deadline.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do SPF and SCDF NSmen use OneNS for ORNS matters?

Use the MHA NS Portal for the Home Team ORNS eServices published by MHA, including call-ups, profile, IPPT or NS FIT, and NS pay. Follow a newer personal or unit instruction if one applies.

Why does OneNS send me to another login for medical matters?

MINDEF says Manage Medical sits on the separate eHealth portal. OneNS can link you there, but eHealth requires its own Singpass login.

What if the portal does not show my task or status?

Preserve the screen and notices, identify the correct service owner, and contact the relevant SAF or Home Team official route. A missing display does not cancel an obligation or deadline.

Bottom Line

There is no single portal name that answers every NS admin task. Start with your status, service, and task. Use CMPB as the pre-enlistment directory, OneNS for published SAF eServices, MINDEF eHealth for SAF medical transactions, and the MHA NS Portal for published SPF and SCDF ORNS services.

When a record is missing or contradictory, preserve the evidence and send it to the correct official owner. The portal is a transaction channel; it does not replace your latest written instruction.
