SAF iLearn
SAF iLearn is the SAF's digital learning platform. It is where a lot of servicemen get assigned the lesson packages and end-of-lesson quizzes that show up during BMT, courses, and ORNS cycles.
Most people who land here are not looking for the platform itself. They are looking for the quiz they were just assigned, at a bad hour, with book-out or lights-out approaching.

What this solves
The answer banks are split by stage. BMT-side lessons sit in one bank, ORNS and ORD-side lessons in the other.

iLearn, LEARNet, Or LearnNet?
You will see all three spellings in group chats, and they are not quite the same thing.
- LEARNet is the SAF's learning portal. MINDEF publicly described LEARNet and its Portal 2.0 refresh back in 2014, covering forums, the SAF Knowledge Exchange, offline access, and mobile access.
- iLEARN, usually written iLearn, is the Individual Learning System — the personal, per-serviceman side of SAF digital learning under the Next Generation Learning System. It sits alongside unit-level and work-events systems.
- LearnNet is the common misspelling of LEARNet. It is also the older name most NSVault pages and search results used for years.
For practical purposes, if someone tells you "do your iLearn," "clear your LEARNet," or "finish your LearnNet quiz," they usually mean the same task: log in, complete the assigned lesson, pass the quiz at the end.
NSVault indexes the quizzes, not the platform. If the wording on a card no longer matches what you see on screen, trust your screen.
Getting Into The Platform
NSVault cannot log you in, reset your access, or tell you which package you were assigned. That side is handled inside SAF systems, and access details differ by service, unit, and course.
If you cannot get in or cannot see an assigned lesson:
- ask your commander, trainer, or course IC first, since assignment is usually done at that level
- check whether the lesson was assigned to a different account or service platform than the one you are trying
- for NS admin that is not platform-specific, NS.sg and ask.gov.sg MINDEF are the official routes
Do not take a login link from a forum, a group chat, or this site. Use the route your unit gave you.
What The Quizzes Usually Cover
The lesson packages repeat across intakes, so the same quiz families show up again and again. NSVault currently has answer cards for:
- Weapon handling — SAR 21 technical handling, stripping and assembling, cleaning and maintenance, loading and unloading, plus the training safety regulations test
- Safety — the Safety Awareness Test for soldiers, range procedures, and hand grenade safety
- Fieldcraft and combat — individual field craft, defence operations, close quarter battle, marksmanship and firing positions
- Protection and security — installation protection, access control, suspicious characters, rules of engagement, terrorism and IED awareness
- General military knowledge — military life, discipline, military law, dress instructions, welfare, standing orders, regimental duties
- Fitness — IPPT lessons, gym and free-weight modules, and programme planning
- ORNS side — mobilisation, call-ups, NS pay, deferment, exit permits, health and medical, group insurance

Safety Quizzes Are Worth Actually Reading
Most of these quizzes are knowledge checks. A few are not.
The safety awareness, hazard identification, weapon safety, and grenade handling packages exist because the content maps onto things that injure people on real training grounds. Passing one without absorbing it is the failure mode those tests were written to catch.
Use the cards to check your understanding and to get unstuck. Read the safety ones properly before you sign anything that says you understood the brief.
If Your Quiz Is Not Here
The banks are built from what people send in, so there are gaps. Known ones include drone knowledge and drone safety packages, and several course-specific tests such as Specialist Cadet School modules.
If you finished a quiz that is missing, send it through the contribute page. Question text plus the confirmed answer is enough.
Before You Rely On A Card
NSVault is unofficial and not affiliated with MINDEF or the SAF. Lesson packages get revised, work-year versions change, and question banks are edited between intakes.
Treat these cards as a study and revision aid. Where a quiz covers safety, medical, pay, or service obligations, the current official wording in the platform and your chain of command are the final word.
