If your hearing suddenly changes, tell your commander or training staff and seek medical attention immediately. Do not wait for book-out to see whether a major change disappears.

The US National Institutes of Health's sudden-deafness guidance treats sudden hearing-loss symptoms as a medical emergency and advises seeing a doctor immediately. This is a clinical urgency reference, not an SAF administrative rule or a diagnosis of what caused your symptoms.
