Lost SAF Helmet or LBS: What to Do

Practical guides for Singapore NSFs and NSMen

A missing SAF helmet or load-bearing system is not an ordinary shopping problem. It is issued protective equipment, and a borrowed or privately bought item does not automatically become an authorised replacement.

The useful first move is to make the gap visible: state what is missing, when it was last accounted for, which places were checked, and whether a course, posting, ICT or mobilisation deadline is approaching. Then get the current unit to identify the replacement owner and the instruction you should follow in the meantime.

This guide is unofficial. It does not decide negligence, theft, charges, payment, replacement priority or training suitability. Current commanders, trainers, unit logistics staff, security instructions and written SAF directions override it.

A No. 4 that does not fit can be an e-fitting problem, an issued-kit problem, an eMart purchase exchange, or an alteration question. Those routes are not interchangeable.

The most time-sensitive route is a recent eMart purchase. Current MINDEF guidance says you should request an eligible sizing exchange within 7 working days, and the item must remain unused and in its original packaging.

This guide separates the routes without inventing a blanket tailoring rule. It is unofficial. Your unit instructions, current uniform standards, OneNS, eMart staff, and MINDEF guidance override anything here.

SAF eMart Order Delayed: What to Check

An SAF eMart order can feel late before the official clock has even started. The useful starting point is not the day you added items to the cart or saw a payment screen. It is the order confirmation email.

Current MINDEF guidance says home delivery and self-collection, excluding sewing service, should take 3–5 working days from the confirmation email. It also says you will receive a call or SMS when the order is ready for delivery or collection.

This guide turns those rules into a clean troubleshooting sequence. It is unofficial. OneNS, the confirmation email, the selected collection mode, eMart customer service, and current MINDEF instructions override anything here.
