La Marseillaise

About the Song

"La Marseillaise" is the national anthem of France, composed in 1792 by Claude Joseph Rouget de Lisle during the French Revolution. Originally titled "Chant de guerre pour l'Armée du Rhin" (War Song for the Rhine Army), it was renamed after it was adopted by volunteer soldiers from Marseille marching to Paris. It is one of the most famous and stirring military marching songs in the world.
